Our First Garden

This year was our first chance of growing a garden. We were worried that it wouldn't turn out, but it is actually doing really great. The corn might not get tall enough or produce- but we will wait and see. We planted our garden the same time that we planted our grass seed, just a couple days later it rained and rained for weeks, our grass seed washed into our garden, so we had grass growing all over, I had to dig up the grass and still have too. The only thing that didn't make it was the onions, because I couldn't tell the difference between them and the grass, and just dug them up. It is so fun to go out everyday and see how it is growing, to see things get big, and see something coming on new each day. I hope to can green beans, make dill pickles, and salsa (if anyone has a good recipe for salsa to can, please let me know- I don't have one!!!) Right now we are enjoying salad, zuccini, peas, and cucumbers.

By the way neighbors, I have plenty of lettuce and zuccini- if you want some please let me know- it will just go bad otherwise.

Look What Zak Brought Home

Zak called me on Monday night and said that he had a present for the girls, I said what kind of present is this, and he said it is trying to climb out of a box right now. I thought to myself, oh great a puppy, what in the world are we going to do with a puppy. But then he told me it was kitty, I couldn't believe Zak would get the girls a kitty- he hates cats with a passion, and it doesn't help that he is allergic to them. But he saw the kitty running around on one of his dairy farms and thought it was cute and that the girls could use a pet. Of course the girls love this kitty, they named her Lily. After Zak brings her home, the girls play with her a bit while I'm fixing dinner, then it is time for dinner, I lock her on the deck while we eat. When the girls are done eating they go outside and no Lily to be found, we looked and looked, called and called for her, and no sign of Lily. We determine that she ran away already. Right before we put the girls to bed we hear a meowing and she is back on the deck, the girls were so happy that she was back. We have been keeping Lily in the garage for now, and the girls can't leave her alone, of course the girls and the neighbor hood kids all fight over her, so she gets plenty of attention. I just don't know what we are going to do with her when we go to Idaho.

Today we decided to go to Bear Lake, the girls had fun playing in the sand, it was a great day- plenty warm!!!

OnE bUsY wEeK

What a crazy, busy week we've had! Every night this past week we haven't got back home until 10 pm or later- hopefully that will change this week.

We did some fun things though- one night we went with some friends boating- Zak wakeboarded, the girls innertubed, then Zak and I did extreme innertubing- I'm not kidding- our friend can whip you around like nothing else, make you go airborne, and turn you upside down, I've got bruises on my legs from it. It was so fun and I'm glad that we were able to go.

We also went swimming with my cousins one day- went down some fun water tubes- and I couldn't get Blyss to get out of the swimming pool to come home- she loved it. The girls have been swimming in their little swimming pool everyday, any chance they can get.

Zak is also helping my cousins get their sheep ready for the fair, so we were over there one night, while he was telling my cousins what they need to do to fatten up their sheep.

On Friday night we participated in the Relay for Life for one of our friends little boy who has leukemia.

On Saturday was a busy day in the yard- doing a yard from scratch stinks- especially if you have crappy dirt! But we have enough grass that Zak set up our brand new tramp for the girls- which has been the neighboorhood hit.

4th July Fun

What a busy, fun weekend we had! This 4th of July we went to Idaho. I had my 10 year class reunion on Friday night. It was so fun to see my classmates that I haven't seen for years. They also voted on who is what or done this- I won the who still looks the same award- I don't know if that is a good thing or bad thing. But I am glad that I went to the reunion.

On Saturday we headed over to Menan, walked around and checked out the booths, then went to the Hancock reunion. We had great food there, lots of visiting, and played some fun games.

That night Zak had bought some fireworks and the girls loved them!

Just something funny- Hallee had to go to the bathroom, there was only portable toliets, so she goes in, comes out, and says, "I can't find the sink in this thing." I got the biggest kick out of that!

Zak and Blyss doing the 3 legged race- they won- but I think they were cheating!

Zak and me doing the water balloon toss. One time I threw- I threw it behind me- OOPS!

Hallee and Elanore doing the water ballon toss. I don't they ever caught it once, the balloon they had was indestructible, because they kept on going and going, and that balloon kept on bouncing all over the ground.

Blyss and Zak doing the water balloon toss.

Miss America Hallee Miller, she stood on this and just waved, while everyone pushed her.

Hallee and Blyss at the Menan Days.

Today I got out our brand new swimming pool. It took over an hour to blow everything up. But the girls played in it, until nap time, they were having a blast.
